The current recommendations under Health & Safety Legislation ACOP L8 refer specifically to the control of legionellosis. It recommends regular inspection, cleaning and disinfection of these installations:
The key installations for water supply are the cold water storage tanks. Frequently, however, they are rarely inspected and often poorly maintained. Corrosion, rust and other harmful deposits are allowed to build up to become a potential source of contamination of the water supply. |

Cooling towers and humidifiers will be totally disinfected using fully approved specialist chemicals. We will provide regular inspection and monitoring surveys to check that the water supply is safe and potable. For newly installed commercial and industrial water systems we will provide a specialist pre-commission cleaning service. All disinfection processes and chemicals are fully approved, supported by detailed risk assessment and method statements. On completion of our service we provide a water quality certificate. |
